Shu Uemura Look

Just today I saw this promotional image for Shu Uemura and I just fell in look with the look this model is wearing. I loved this look so much that I tried to do my own interpretation of it as soon as I got home from work.

I think that I did a pretty good job on recreating the look. However, I can never seem to get the colours in my photos to show up as well as the make up gurus on youtube (even on Macro setting). I  must say though this camera is a huge improvement compared to my older camera.

MAC Haul + Samples

I'm a person who loves coloured eyeshadow so when I saw MAC's Peacocky collection I think my heart did a little leap.

From the pictures I had seen online I knew the colours were going to be amazing but I couldn't help myself when I swatched the eyeshadows and saw them with my own eyes.

I think I got a little carried away with this collection but I definately think it was worth it. These eyeshadows are dearer than the regular MAC eyeshadows but by paying slightly more you are definately getting more for your money as these eyeshadows are a lot larger than the regular ones. If you are one who would purchase back ups of limited edition eyeshadows I highly doubt you will need to with these ones.

In total I came home from the shops with 9 eyeshadows!!! (that's crazy!!) These are all pictured below!

*Update* I forgot to mention that I also purchased the MAC Kissable Lipcolour in Exxxhibitionist which I am loving. Will post a swatch of it on my hand on lips shortly!

As well as the eyeshadows I picked up a sample or the Lancome Genifique Eye Cream. I'm on the prowl for an effective eye cream for fine lines and dark circles so if you have any HG eye creams please let me know!

I've never tried the DiorSkin Nude foundations before so I decided to pick up a sample after I heard good things about it from my friend. I was given #30 Medium Beige to try. I am using this today and this shade is definately too dark for me (usually I wear MAC NC25 for reference). It does feel nice and light on the skin but I am already noticing a bit of shine on my nose. Will see how it lasts through out the rest of today.

Napoleon Perdis~

Recently I received a Napoleon Perdis gift pack (one of those promotions where if you sign up you receive a gift pack free) and I just wanted to share all of this with you.

Currently, I do not own any Napoleon Perdis products so I'm quite happy to be able to try out these products.

The gift pack consisted of a lipgloss, duo blush compact, eyeshadow quad, mascara and a make up remover.

These are the initial photos. I'm looking forward to trying all of these and letting you know what I think of them.

New Blog, New Haul~!

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog!
To celebrate the new beginning and the new year I thought I would kick start my first post with a haul. My first haul consists of items from the brand Mirenesse which is 100% Australian owned (just for those who aren't familiar with the brand). This is my first time trying these products so I just wanted to share with you some initial swatches and my first thoughts.

The items that I had purchased were x2 Duo Forever Diamonds Lipsticks and the Mirenesse Power Touch Beauty Pen (which is a highlighter).

The packaging is light weight but feels nice, solid and sturdy (not to mention gorgeous!). It is a very classy and sleek finish and I must say I really do adore the packaging.

The shades that I have purchased are:

Jacque:     Pink Plum Matte

Fabbio:     Coral Nude Matte

Markko:   Nude Peach Matte

Ricardo:    True Pink Shimmer

These lipsticks were created to be a blend between a lipstick and a lip gloss. This is extremely handy for those like me who like the ease of applying one lip product that can achieve both great colour and the comfort of having moist lips.

These lipsticks are extremely nice and just glided onto my skin and lips with such ease. However, there are ingredients in this lipstick to create a plumping effect which does result in a tingly feeling. I haven't worn these for long enough to tell you how long the effect lasts but I will definately do an update.

So far, in terms of texture and packaging I have to say I really like these lipsticks. They are easy to apply, leave your lips feeling moist and aren't sticky. However, as I did mention previously they are a lip plumper which will cause you to feel a tingly sensation on the lips. It would be best to avoid this product if you dislike plumpers.

These lipsticks were purchased from the Mirenesse website. They are usually AUD$ 79.00 however there is currently a special which means you will be able to purchase a duo for only AUD$ 29.00. If you're interested in these products I would definately check them out while they are on special.

*Update* I wore the shade Ricardo today and surprisingly I didn't feel the tingly sensation I felt when I was swatching them initially. I must investigate this further! =)

Mirenesse Power Touch Beauty Pen

These are my initial swatches of the Mirenesse Power Touch Beauty Pen in the shade moonlight. The product shade is quite light and product itself is quite thick. It would not suit those who are of a darker skin colour. As the product is quite thick, I found it difficult to blend it out. The product is blendable but will take a bit of effort in doing so.

This product is meant to be used to highlight areas on the face and also to brighten up dark circles. I will do a proper review once I've thoroughly tested the product.
